want to paint my 95 bronco

I have a 95 Eddie Bronco.

Redish Marroon, tan interior well whats left the seats and dash, everything else has been stripped off, and black "rino" lined.

I want to paint the truck Flat black or a Flat greenish.

I dont want anything special, meaning no shop job, was wondering if i bought a few cases of spraypaint ,.... you think that it would work out ????

If anyone has done this or knows a better way of accomplishing what i am wanting to do please any advice would be helpful.. or if im out of my mind for wanting to do this please let me know.....

I'm just tired of the "pretty" look of the exterior and the off road of the interior, please let me know what you think...

Flat black it, throw a fake rat on there somewhere, and if you got em, make the shifters REALLY long! Make a rat rod outta it.

My buddy did his suburban flat black, came out pretty good. Make sure you tape off what you want to stay clean, he went right over the "Suburban" markings and Chevy markings. Never even knew it till I pointed it out, then he came back with "Oh, uh, well... I WANTED to do that." Yea, sure. If you do it outside, try and do it on as windless a day as you can to avoid painting yourself as well. And if you do it inside, make sure there's proper ventilation (pretty sure you'd know that, but it can't hurt to say it again.)

Best thing about that kinda paint job is when you scratch it in the woods, its a simple 3 second fix. /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Regular spray paint is not conpatible with automotive type paints, Spray paint won't adhere well to the "pretty" clear coat that is on you're truck, A good sanding to remove the clear is advisable. Otherwise it will start to peel off in big flakes. Take you're time on the prep work and you will be pleased with the outcome.

Don't just sand with 80 grit, use it in the begining and then go to something more like 120 grit or finer to get rid of all the gouges left by the sandpaper. My buddy did that and (even though it's on off road rig) looked like he was a ****** that didn't understand the reasoning behind painting or something. I'm sure you knew this already but once again it never hurts to throw out there...

Thanks guys for the advice, will be hopefully starting project soon, got 5 other small truck projects going on and the lady wants me to finish those before i start another.
