Well I'm not too sure on how to decode the VIN, but I can tell you a few easy ways to break down what type of drivetrain you have. I'm sure some of the Bronco gurus will correct me if I'm wrong. The easiest way to tell which engine you have is to look at the intake manifold. A 302 will be stamped 5.0 and a 351 will be stamped 5.8. If you're looking for HP ratings, I can tell you that a 351W EFI is about 190-200 HP stock. To tell which transmission you have, count up the number of bolts holding your tranny pan up. If it has 20 bolts, you have a E40D. If it has 17 bolts, you have a C6. I think that the E40D became standard after '92, so that's probably what you have. There should be an ID tag with a part number somewhere on your transfer case. Get that number and bounce it against the website below:

You probably have a Borg Warner 1356, but you never know what could have been swapped in. I'm pretty sure the Ford 8.8 is the standard rear axle and a Dana 44 is the norm for the front.
