My chrome valve covers don't seem to EVER stay sealed good. Anyone have a remedy to making them stop leaking. It doesn't seem to matter how tight the bolts are (or aren't) they just seem to leak and then the oil gets on my heads and stinks and all the other good stuff that goes with leaking oil! <_<

I replaced the cover bolts withh some chrome hold-downs from Summit. Each one is about 3 inches long, and holds alot better than a bolt. You will need to tighten them quite often, at least for awhile until they seat good. Remember, the torque specs on the cover bolts is 20 inch-lbs, not foot-lbs!!! Thats like hand tight with slight pressure. Don't overtighten them or the cover lip will get bent and leak.

I got some thick rubber valve cover gaskets from the local part store. No sealant, no leaks, and most of all no cork
