transmission rebuild?

Does anyone have an idea what a rebuild on a 1989 bronco transmission might run me? I'm looking at a range here. I get a pop when i shift out of overdrive. Not sure if it is gonna have to be rebuilt but I want to brace myself. Thanks.

When the tranny went bad in my Bronco with the E4od it was 1200. That is here in MI.
