OK first off I want to say this is the first Ford I have owned in 8-9 years.
Now on to the problem, I have a 90 Bronco, it has a 351 with an auto and I do not know what kind of Trans it has. On the door jam under TRANS has the letter E.
I was driving home from work, I turn the Overdrive off when the speed limit is 35 and 45. So once I got to the 55 zone I left the OD off for about 3-5 miles. Once I turned on the OD it acted like it kicked out of gear and just revved up. So I slowed down and turned the OD off again and it still would not go. So I pulled over on the side and stopped for a minute and it would pull again. I then started out in L1 and then shifted it myself and had no problem. And of course it has not done it to me again and I drove it for about 5-8 miles home. I did not get back up to 55 though, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
Once I got home I checked the fluid and it was good.
Any ideas to what it could possibly be or some trouble shooting steps?
Thanks!
