Tires Rub Frame

So I have an 82 XLT with a 4" lift and oversized tires.  My problem is the tires are rubbing the frame when you turn sharp either direction.  I'd like to fix this without using spacers, but I won't eliminate any option until I've considered them all.  All suggestions welcome! Thanks.

Happy to provide more info in needed, I'm just at work and don't have access to exact specs at the moment.

Welcome to the Zone!! Post some pictures of your truck when you get a chance.  Also put your truck vitals in your signature, it helps get more relavent answers for a lot of questions /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />.

I don't think you will be satisfied with spacers because that will move the wheel center line out which will throw off the camber and cause excessive wear on the tires.  You can get adjustable bushings for the upper ball joints to compensate for the camber problem. The truck was not designed with enough space for oversize tires.  I think you are going to have to live with it

You might want to contact the guys at http://broncograveyard.com/   248-437-5060 they may have some suggestions since they handle lift kits.

May be able to make it work but NO spacers. Depends on how bad you want to run them and how big. Up to 38s should fit but wheels and a suspension lift may be needed. No more than 2 inches unless you really want to spend some bucks even with a 2 inch lift the front end will need to be realigned. Do NOT go over 2 without a dropped pitman arm and all new steering linkage(no matter what your bud Burt said} getting oak trees out of the windshield and a death wobble is bad. Changing the wheel offset(distance between back of rim and back of center can help. whoabegone
