I can't make a specific recomendation for you, but I can point out something that you probably already know.

The Bronco transfer case is NOT limited slip like some all wheel drive cars are.

This is my understanding (I might be totally wrong so I won't at all be offended if someone jumps in and corrects me)

That means to me that the front and rear tires should spin at the same rate (When in 4X4) IF the dimensions of the tires (I.E. the actual measured diameter in particular, or better yet the circumference) is different, front and rear, they will spin at different speeds. IF they are spinning at different speeds, and the tires are on dry (good traction pavement) there will be a LOT of stress on the transfercase and the rest of the drive train. WIth this understanding it would be important that the front tires be the same dimension as the rear tires. I also understand that advertised 33 inch tires may actually vary quite a bit from one manufacturer to another, and possibly within a manufacturer's line from one model to another. With that said, you may want to look at the "actual" measured dimension, OR some sites will list the circumference of the tire, by giving the number of revolutions the tire will turn to cover one linear mile.

This site offers information on many tires, including stats of revolutions per mile

I hope this helps.

you are on the money joe. Most tire companies advertise Actual size as well if you look into it. I know Mastercraft does and their prices arent too bad.

you really shouldnt be in 4x4 on dry pavement anyways so if your sizes are just a little different then you will be okay(should be)

Some guys in off road racing run different size fronts/rears but they compensate for it with different Diff ratios.

4x4hi locks your front and rear 1:1. your front is an open diff so when you turn only one wheel is being driven, but your rear could be open or LS, and when you go around a turn your front outside tire has a much different speed then your rear outside tire. If you have ever tried to make a tight turn in 4x4 on pavement you know what im talking about. That is exactly what joe was getting at with drive line stress.

what size are the tires? you could probably sell them on a 4x4 forum and pay for a full set off matching tires, just a thought.

yes i know what you are saying. but most 33s dont differ that much. a difference such as 33.3 and 33.5 is nothing. that small of a difference is like having mud on the tires. it is not enough difference to ghurt anything. at all. when your in the mud anyway, your tires are already caked with mud and packed up anyway making them bigger and heavier. or when in snow, the front is geared like a tad bit lower so that it will spin on loose traction. when does anyone use 4 wheel drive on dry pavemebnt anyway. i think its not enough difference to tell anything or hurt anything.

well yes its not much of a difference but say a 33" mastercraft is actually 32.5", the baja claw is about 32.5 as well. if we are talking about a 33. most tires come in under sized and most should be close enough not to matter. and your right there is no reason to be in 4x4 on dry pavement. you should be fine with it.

the only thing is different vibration and road noise. whatever tires you get for the front may be noiser or quieter or induce more vibration. Ive run all terrains on the rear and bfg long trails on the front with no issues but if you get into mud tires i have no idea what will happen.
