i just bought a 94 bronco and one of the only problems i have encountered with it is that the tailgate wont come down. whenever i try to open it only one side of the tailgate opens and the other side is jammed. any ideas on what could be wrong and how to fix it?

From what you said, it sounds like the linkage inside the gate came apart. You can remove the access panel cover from inside the truck and the manually release the latches. You will probably find the rod that hooks to the latch has come off.
