Hi folks. I installed a new tailgate on my 1979 and it’s not pre-drilled for the OEM “FORD” letters. Does anyone know where I can find a template to ensure proper spacing?

And, no don’t have access to the old gate to measure. :(

Thanks all!

Did you have any issue with the latches on the side of the tailgate being smaller then OEM ?

Between the 78 and 79 models their is a few difference in some of the parts like the front universal joints. I think the 79,s are bigger. I have a 78 Ranger xlt and custom.

I woke up this morning and had a good idea that came back to me. If anyone is looking for parts --alot cheaper then any where. Try the local scrap yard. You can get some really good deals if you have a truck to haul it---like complet motors. I missed out on a 427 Chevrolet motor--that ran---only fpr scrap cost--about a hundred dollars. I got m 390 that had about 20,000 for about $20. They have all kinds of stuff their--all you have to have is time to walk around and permission from the owners. Some tools .
