I was wondering is there any way to **** the smog pump or the alternator bearings one of them is producing a wretched squeling sound . i think they just sat to long or something.. but i can't drive the bronco with all that noise.... she drives awesome though... just can't wait to get the motor broke so i can hit the mud again ...

take a long extension an with the engine running hold one end to your ear carefully place the other on the suspect part you will get a instant answer as the extension acts like a stethoscope

and no there really is no way to **** them just replace may even be the tensioner idler or water pump

try seabronc's idea even tho it is a serp belt if the noise is there with the belt off then you got inernal motor problems and i gather its a rebuilt or new one find out sooner than later
