Solonoid Clicking and nothing else

The solenoid in my 66 bronco was clicking when I turned the key. I replaced it. I tested it quickly before putting my tools away and it turned the starter and the engine fine. When I got ready to start it up, it was back to clicking. I tried jumping it just to eliminate that. I've tightened battery connections, checked and retightened solenoid connections. Still nothing is happening except for the clicking. Any ideas? Thanks, Tom

Check your battery if it is in good condition.

I would start by cleaning all ground connections if the battery test good.
