Sloppy three on the tree.

I just purchased a 69 bronco. 302 with three on the tree. Vehicle has been the the previous owners possession for the past 20 years. Very clean.

Question is that the column shifter for the manual trans is so sloppy that most of the time you can not put it in gear. What is the cure & what parts are needed and where to buy them.

You have a couple choices.

Re-build that stock shifter...., (or swap in a re-built column) all the parts are readily available., & reasonable in price.

---OR---

Install one of several floor shifters. (preferable by most, except restorers)

Both avail. fr. Toms Br. Parts., WildHorses., Jeffs Br. Graveyard., & several other EB stores.

If you do some wheelin I would go with the floor shifter...I have a floor shifter cover diamond plate and the lever and **** and most of the shift levers,,, bully bob took the three speed from me small $$ if you need them
