Anyone have any comments on Duff's 70/30 shocks? I've got old K Bar S Bronco shocks on mine and I'm trying to replace them. I've always been a Rancho fan and was going to get 5000s. I need something that will be an all around good shock on and off road. I have daul shocks all the way around. . . looks like someone just welded extra brackets on and are using bolts through the top of the shock. Any advice?

Stay away from Rancho 5000's, the Duff 70/30 are awesome!

Rancho is a 50/50 style shock so it will give a stiff ride, with duals it will be real stiff. Duff's is 30% compression: collapses easy so the coils are being used, creats a soft ride instead of a harsh impact of a Rancho 50%. Then its got 70% on rebound so it takes out the bounce and returns slowly.

I run one per corner but I like a soft ride. Plenty good for street or off road use. Duals can be used but are not needed. You can always add them later if need be. I run the Duff shock hoops that utilize a 2" body lift to fit their large 15" throw shocks; extends 35".

I have eight of them on my 74 and love them. I jsut got it running again so the only testing I have gotten so far is primarily a childish race accross our dropzone or a series of speedbumps but they seem to work great. My whole suspension is Duff and can't say anything bad about it.

I have the whole Duff 70-30 suspension kit an I love it!! Nothing bad to say about it at all. I have double shocks all around, and my bronco rides as nice as I could ever ask. Before I installed this new suspension, all my friends told me not to double shock it because it would ride too rough. I decided to trust what Duff was saying about their 70-30 set-up and went ahead and put it on. Duff was right!!

Go for the Duff kit!!

Thanks for the advice!!! Sounds like that's the way I need to go. Now I just have to wait for the next paycheck before I can buy 8 of these and a steering stabalizer. I'll let y'all know how i like them. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I have a 74 with a Duff lift and dual 70/30's at each corner that I run at the Silver lake sand dunes in Mears Michigan. Has a great ride and handles well over the chatter and rough terrian at speed. The only problem I have had is I gernaded one of the left rear shock seals after about 3-4 feet of air time.

I will be replacing it with another 70/30. Good Luck

Just wanted to let y'all know I put the 8 70/30s around and it rides much better than before--now I don't have to cringe in fear that the liftgate glass is going to shatter when I go over every little bump in the road. Thanks for the advice!

Someday when you have time try taking one shock off per corner and drive around for a few days to see if you like it a bit softer. I prefer singles but I don't drive my rig on the road much. I like a soft ride off road. A few friend with the same suspension (Duff) but dual shocks always ask, how did you get your suspension to ride so nice? Easy take a shock off per corner. They have all changed to it. Its all a matter of how you like the truck to handle and can always add the second shock later when you need it. Just a thought...
