Shock Tower

OK heres one I never came across my 95 XLT Has Quad shocks in the front with 4" lift coils Iv'e had to replace the upper shock bushings ( pass front) about 4 times in the last couple of monthes so I pulled the shock out and found that the hole that the shock bolt goes through is large than normal and with the bouncing and so forth it moves around and wears out the upper bushing Has anyone run into this before and how did you fix it with out a welder Any suggestions or fixes would be greatly appreciated Thanks Stu

OH yea and is the front bumper mounts on a 85 and 95 the same a freind has a brush/push bar he wants to sell me for 50 bucks almost brand new Thanks

The best thing to do is buy a new shock tower. Short of that there is no way to prevent the shock from moving round without making a patch. A short term fix might be to weld a number 8 hardness washer on either side of the tower that has the proper hole to fit the shock attachment bolt. If you don't weld then there is no waya to tighten it down so it won't be able to move around.

The bush bar should mount to your bumper no problem. The bumpers mount differently but the bush bar mounts to the bumper itself so shouldnt be an issue

Thanks Seabronc and Yardape for responding, I thought I could use a sleeve or washers until I can get a new shock tower because right now im going through a set of bushings every couple of weeks I'll let you know how i make out Yardape I thought the brushgaurd should mount up but with the year differance thought id ask Thanks Again ( I Love this Place)
