My truck leaks and the pad underneath the rubber mat is always wet. Is there any cons to removing them altogether so it doesn't smell.

I was worried things would get scratched and possibly start to rust.

Has anyone else taken theirs out????

the jute pad under the rubber mat holing all the moisture will be worse for your floor than with it out. Trust me on that one.

I dont recommend just running bare metal floor, I would at least use some sort of truck liner.

where is your truck leaking from?

i found alot of bad surprises when i pulled my rubber mat out.

oh yeah, heat, insulation from cold and sound deadening. Those are you reasons for keeping it.

Right know its leaking from the back window and somewhere under the dash. When it rains it runs down the passenger floor mat.

When I pulled up the rubber and the jute in the back to let it dry the metal was pristine white with no rust or scratches.

I would love to pull the seats out and everything and have it sprayed with a liner.
