Revving high at startup...

Every time I start my '94, it revs high for about a minute, then it settles down. Is this normal, or is there something I should be concerned about?

i believe that would be the idle control motor..or IAC whichever it is called.

most FI trucks do rev up a little when starting cold, mine revs to about 1500 or so for a minute first thing in the morning, but your saying that your truck does it even when warm?

It only does it when I first start it... The longer it sits, the longer the revving is. In the morning it takes longer to settle than it would if I went to the store or something like that. Then it only takes a matter of seconds. Incidently, my brother has an Explorer that does the same thing.
