Remote Starter

Okay, I just got a remote starter for my 94 5.8L Bronco. I have heard horor stories about probing the wrong wires and blowing the airbag. I'm a bit nervouse on this because if you've ever had an airbag blow you know what the crap is that goes EVERYWHERE! I have never taken apart my stearing column so I never knew what was under there. To my surprise it wasn't what I was lookig for. To get to the point, I have no idea where to get my ACC ON/RUN and START wires at. I found a site that gave me "ignition harness" but I have no idea what my ignition harnes would be. I guess I'm not that bright when it comes to the electrical side of things. Any information would be great!

WHOO HOO! Got it installed. Talk about the look on peoples faces when those dual's light up by themselves! The bad part is, I was playing with it to much and actually killed the battery :wacko: Oh well, time to charge it on up and drive her around. I think the next thing for it is going to be the raidar proximity sensor so I can feel safe when the top is off!

wait so when u use a remote start even tho the engine is running it doesnt charge the battery?

It does, I was just starting it for like 30 seconds or a minute and not giving the alternator time to charge the battery. Not to mention I was playing with the door locker and unlocker. It also sets itself after so long of not being turned on or whatever and I was messing with the places to put the main control box and kept setting it off.

i have a remote started on my bronco, I LOVE messing with people, when there are a few people standing by my truck, i'll start it up, the true dual's roar, and they all jump and look around trying to figure out what is happening then i walk up and there all weirded out...its GREAT!!! Congrats on the install, i have a motion sensor on mine so with my top off and the doors off i have no prob, if someone touches the truck it beeps and if they continue the allarm with scream..

about how much does a remote start cost anyway? i really want one, PITA to hook up? any cutting or splicing involved?, and how long did it take you?
