rear diff. noises

Hi guys, maybe yall can help me out. My rear diff was low on fluid (have a pinion seal leak not really bad though) so i went and put in some 90wt. and now I get a loud bang comming from the rearend its a 8.8 on a 93 bronco. any ideas?

have you opened the diff up yet to check out teh inside? I would do that first, but that doesn't sound good

well went out and pulled the coveroff and found that the pinion gears are shot and so are the spiders gears too. the ring and pinion look fine no chips or cracks. I just talked to a buddie of mine and he said that I can replace these parts without pulling everything apart. Is this true?

It looks like I can but dont know.

you should be able to replace them without too much trouble.
