I want to go to work on some of the rust holes in my EB. I do have what some would say would the rust in usual spots (between fender and door panel, skid plates, and generally some on the inner tub).
I have heard some good things about Por 15 and even was told fiberglass could be laid down and por15 could be used as a laminate. I have some good size holes (some dime size to some i can put my fist through). I know cutting and welding is probably a better answer, but I have no plasma cutter and am not an experienced welder. Any one had luck or maybe other recommendations, was thinking of painting exhaust pipes and other areas of the underbody with it if it really does stop the rust? Is it worth it and/or other suggestions on application or use?
Lastly, any good tips on removing some old undercoating? Tried lacquer and paint thinner but just got knuckles bloody as **** going to town with a putty knife. Por 15 I guess has to bond to metal and the undercoating ontop of the rust will prevent bonding.
