Before you reply... know what will fit minus a lift...but i'm curious if anyone is cutting up the fenders to run larger tires?

I'm not a big fan of having a huge lifted truck...but i'd really like to run a set of 35-37's without lifting the truck. eventually I'll be SASing it...but I was jsut curious if there is anyone cutting up the bodies to run the bigger tires. I know alot of my TJ buddies are doing it...and running 37's with 2" or so of lift and jsut cutting the tub and running tube fenders..SO..anyone doing it...and has pics/what offset/width wheels?

Unfortunately I dont know what the specs on my rims are because ive never taken the time to measure them, but my bronco is an 85 and i ran 32x11.50s with no issue, no rubbing on the radius arm and to fender clearance problems. I ran these same wheels on my 89f150 and no clearance issues as well. Stepping up to a 33x12.50 introduced some clearance issues. For a street driven truck its no problem but if you want to get the most out of your suspension a little trimming is needed. I have seen pictures of trucks with 35s on no lift and just cutting the body. Ive also seen pictures of a bronco the same generation as yours with 36s a few inches of suspension lift and cut fenders and a dropped body so it would fit in the garage.

autofab makes some oversized opening front fiberglass fenders for your truck. they also have some rears that you can install with twist lock fasteners

front fenders are $650 for the pair. rears are $600.

if you navigate that site they have a section where they show the build up of that red truck, its actually an 80-86 body that they converted the front end over to 92+

also wanted to mention that autofab has a fiberglass hood and tailgate for the truck as well. I believe the tail gate still accepts the window and motor, hinges etc but is a total of 50lbs with the glass? i cant remember and i cant seem to find it but i know its there with instructions.

Thanks for the info with the fenders, however I'm not wanting to spend 1300 on some fenders, sawzall is free...and then I can just roll the lips to look "factory"

Im running 33 12.50s on 15x10 w/ a 4" bs....No rubbing at all...but I'm not running a front bumper, and no sway bars. So what "little" flex I get I dont hit anything...but it wont clear the front bumper(one of the reasons I took it off. But I know I could hve spaced it forward a little, but i didnt like the way it looked.

I'm wanting to move up to 35" boggers when these 33's wear out. the truck right now has a spool in the rear and 4.10's front/rear(duh) But I was hoping I could see a truck with some decient size rubber and just cut out fenders and some ideas on the wheels to see if I can even get away with running a 35" bogger without the inside lubs hitting the radius arms. but then again if i get a wider wheel, and less offset then thats gonna put alot of strain on the axles..so I dont know, jsut looking for some input.

The truck is my DD, but i dont really care about the driveability since I put maybe 10 miles on it a day max.

ill search around for those pics. I realize those fenders are expensive but its a cool idea. I wouldnt buy them but i have often considered cutting up a few fenders to make a larger openings that are stock looking( a little tougher on the pre87 fenders). If you run 35x12.50s on the same rims you shouldnt have any issues. You can get/make custom radius arms and adjust your steering stops. im planning on the same thing myself.

Thanks for looking for me. I have a set of 95 f150 fenders that came off my old truck...back in my lowered on 22's days...lol. Ive been thinking about cutting those up and trying to piece together a factory-looking opening, but have the opening start at the back of the headlights then extend 2" in front of the door...but I havent really found the time away from work to look into this.

I dont really want to get new arms, or make new ones. Since my goal this winter is to find a beater to drive and do a leaf sprung hp 60 front, and a 9" rear, but thats a whole other thread in the future.

If you do a d60 swap up front that should lift you 4.5 inches. When you do that why go 9 inch? why not a sterling 10.25? That way you dont have to mess with trying to adapt the front back to 5 bolt to match the 9 inch. just out of curiousity

I know the D60's and 9" fords...Simple as that. It may not be the best combo in other's eyes but it will work for me..Plus I already have the 9" rear sitting in my garage...I may change my mind..but as of now thats how I'm goin.

I dont care about the bolt patterns, its not like I cant get two exact wheels with different bolt patterns. And I never carry a spare...stupid I know, but I just take the bronco out in creek beds and in the mud, not to mention hunting. knock on wood...ive never needed a spare, ive put plugs in tires to get me home, wd40 and a lighter to reset beads, and I carry a c02 tank to air up tires..no need...I dont really travel far from home, everything ive owned thats been on any trails has been trailored there with my dad's truck.
