I'm buying an '89 5.8 C6 4X4 and have an entire deonor vehicle, '96 bRONCO 5.8 4x4 with the E4OD. Having reviewed the transmission info you've provided and some of the b.s. that goes with it, I understand that this '96 is the killer transmission having all of the necessary upgrades for reliability. I'm considering this because of mileage alone. I have to drive from Seattle to Austin, TX and I'm after the mileage enhancment. I'm of a semi-professional mechanical inclination. I'm told that he trans./transfer case with support member and drive shafts just bolt in. I'll need the computer and harness, too. Whop hads done this before? Does anyone out there have any emperical data on the swap? Will the '96 computer operate the '89 engine? I see that there is a power difference between the two years. If the later module detunes the early 5.8, where can I have the '96 module flashed? Should al go well, my c6 will be for sale. Actually, I could use a shop and some helping hands in the Issaquah, WA area on or about the morning of the 6/21. Any ideas guys? Someone must have done this before. It seems like a truee bolt-in. Thanks, Dan
