Hello all, I'm a new member but I've read a lot of good stuff on the forum. I've got an 85 Fullsize Bronco 5.0L, T18, BW1345, 3" Rancho, 33"s, 9" rear w/ 4.11 truetrac. A couple of weeks ago the t-case shelled and left me walking. I read a post about the oil pump hose breaking off. I got it apart tonight and found out that that is exactly what happened. The planetary, the front ****** bearing, front case half, and the rear output shaft are all just paper weights now. My question is which t-case of this era is better/stronger? I have a buddy with a small junk yard who says that he has several to choose from. I'm just wondering if I should keep it simple and r&r what I have or swap for something else? How easily are they swapped? I look forward to giving and receiving lots of good info. Thanks.

Yeah the oil pump line is the most common failure Ive seen . The 1987 and later use a 1354 which is a little different . Actually easier to work on a little bit . Its a good case . Whatever you get Id take it apart first thing and replace that rubber line with some polyurethane . That stuff doesnt break down in oil . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
