I.ve got a buddy who has a 77, with a 5 speed nv3500 mt and a 302. he had a lift on it with 33's, but we took the lift off and put it to stock height with some nice 31's. his main goal with ths rig is to drive on the high way, with light 2 trackin. mhe just wants a cruiser for some rearson. my question is, what gears should he have based on his set up? he has 3.55 in them now i think.

thanks guys

Assuming they've not been changed fr. the factory set-up.., you should be fine.

They came with 3.50., 4.11., & some cases 4.56's

You likely have 3.50's

Simple test.... mark the tire & dr. shaft. Jack the rear & rotate the tire 1 turn.

Count the # of rotations of the dr. shaft. In some cases., you may need to chock the opposite tire to get an accurate reading.

I'm guessing you'll get 3 1/2 turns on the shaft.

350's will serve you well on the street.., & that trannie's gearing will do well in the dirt. :D/
