no, no sound, i just know the motor works because when i connected directly with the battery of the truck it sounded and moved. But once in the back with its own cables it doesn't do anythingcan you hear the motor working, or no sound?
can you hear the motor working, or no sound?
If you can hear the window motor operating then it is probably the gears inside the motor. They can be replaced and look like the attached picture. You can get a set from Jeff's bronco Grave yard http://www.broncograveyard.com or LMC Truck http://www.lmctruck.com or some auto parts stores have them in the Help section.Sorry to jump n on this thread, but I'm having a similar problem in my '89.........
I hear a repititve clacking sound that's louder trying to go up than it is down. Window doesn't move in either direction though. I took the actual window out and the arms will move up (not at all smoothly though), but nothing on the way down. Matter of fact, while tryingto go down, the arms pop out of place and spring a few inches in the opposte direction they're supposed to be going (thought I'd almost lost my arm, lol). Not sure what my next move should be - watcha' think?
Awesome!!!! Next beer I drink is for you SeaBronc!! Can I repair this by removing just the motor, or will everything else need to come out as well?If you can hear the window motor operating then it is probably the gears inside the motor. The little yellow cylinders you can see under the gear tend to self distruct after years of opertion.
Good luck,

Just pull the motor and remove the ger cover.Awesome!!!! Next beer I drink is for you SeaBronc!! Can I repair this by removing just the motor, or will everything else need to come out as well?
Went to the local Advance Auto store. They didn't have the gear on it's own, but they did have the rebuild kit. Glad I got that. The plastic gear had shattered and left pieces all in the grease. The kit had grease with it so I was able to clean the plastic out and repack. Window is working now - thanks a looooootttt for the help. I was going to replace it all, lol. This $29 kit was a much better alternative - Thanks a lot Seabronc!Just pull the motor and remove the ger cover.
