I recently purchased a full-sized V8 86 bronco, and i was planning to get a 6" suspension lift from bronco graveyard, rancho rs5000 shocks, along with a 3" body lift for 31's i got from my friend, i know i'll have a little more clearance than i need for 31's, but i plan on upgrading later. Im going to be installing all these myself, and i was wondering if there were some in-depth books or manuals that could walk me through the process, I'm very inexperienced, but still really interested, and looking forward to get my truck ready for action. Thanks for the help.

there aren't going t be any how-to manuals on installing lifts and what not, but it would be a good idea to go to the parts store and buy either a Haynes or Chilton's manual, or both, and acquaint yourself with your truck as best as you can. However, there are two things i must voice my opinion on. Wait to install the lift unti you have properly sized tires. for starters, its going to look goofy as **** with 9" of lift and 31s (think about it, you can clear 31s at stock height with NO modification). second, is the body lift really necesary? what about installing cutout flares for the fenderwells, or simply trimming the fenders? bronco's can be incredibly capable with just a 6" lift and 35's or 36's. ****, they are pretty damn capable in pure stock form. the best piece of advice i can give you on this subject matter is to learn how to walk before you run the marathon. learn anything and everything you can about your truck before you go throwing wrenches and parts at it. and researach which lift kits are best, what size tires, what gearing you should run for the front and rear axles, yada yada yada

Here-here..!

What Ocala said....

I might add there's a certain amount of danger involved. Having done this a few times, I'm still very careful. The actual labor is a "3-4 banana" job.

Proper work area, planning, & tools are a must for safty.
