So I finally got my 429 in . It is a 68 , with some internal mods an edelbrock intake and custom headers, running 2 1/2" off the collectors, into sweet talker mufflers , with 3" tails. All routed outside the frame for better heat dissipation. I also opted to use a hydroboost brake booster to stop the sucker, as we all know how weak the stock braking systems are in 79. to further aid in cooling I also louvered the hood .

Not sure if you know or not but if that motor is a 68 they used leaded gas back then and now they dont if you didnt have hardened seats put in the heads for the exhaust valves it will have a very short life expectancy it will actually beat the valves up into the head . Motor looks good though :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

some more pics, I finally got the camera back from my daughter, including some of the hydroboost. I used the hydro out of the 77 lincoln that I took my 460 out of. I had to use all the bracketing of it for the 429, which bolted right on after changing the waterpump. It uses a high output saginaw pump, that has 2 return lines. Remove the old vac. booster at the firewall, cut of the pushrod, we put it in the lathe to drill a 5/16 hole up t center, after some mesuring cut the pushrod eye off the hydro , pressed the original eye off the vac boost on, tacked it for good mesure, installed it as a unit, ran the hydrolic lines, hooked up the brake lines and bled them, fired up the engine bled the stg. pump as normal, And now I stop as fast as I go!
