today i came across an old military truck frame at an antiuqe salvage yard its got huge kingpin axles and a equally huge transfer case for $200 it looks interesting. they dont look like the 2.5ton rockwells thuogh i haev no clue what they are. anyone in here runnin this kind of stuff? just curious theyre in stillwater oklahoma if anyone wants em

o yeah the diffs are offset if that helps in identifying them the owner of the yard said it was a military vehicle a guy built for hauling logs along the river? $200....

do the diff covers have a crosshatched pattern in them? If so they are 2.5 ton GMC axles. Not very desirable as they are impossible to find parts for and although big are not as tough as a rockwell.

ill have to go look again but thats probably what they are. would the transfer case off one of those be desirable for anyone? what low range would somethin like that have?

Find out what what it is. The axles will be either the Rockwells, with toploader diffs, or an Eaton, with giant 3rd-member-like diffs, and large round cross-hatched diff covers, as maritime stated

Rockwells, get the truck. Eatons... still usable, but difficult to find rebuild parts for

they werent rockwells looked like big 3rd member. im leavin em there but thanks for the info
