Thanks for the info guys ,Planning on using a high build primer ,thinned out just to delay any surface rust untill i can get the metal work done . I hae also used a product called OSPHO it does the same trick as far as turning rust back to good metal I'm on the east coast and a lot of the steel trawlers use tis before repair!

Looks good but I would check with a automotive paint supplier to make sure it is comptable with auto paints. For frames and inside rust prone areas I am partial to POR15 which converts and hardens like epoxy to the surface. It is also a thicker product than OSPHO therfore not suitable to finish surfaces.
