have 78 bronco,6in lift,39.5x15tsl. at speeds over forty or hit a bump at just the time the front end shimmys side to side enough you think the front is coming out from under the truck. you almost think the tires were held on by couple threads. i have replaced all ball joints, wheel bearings, axle u-joints, and trac arm bushings. the frt end is tight. iv'e never had this problem until about six mo. ago. i had been running equal in the tires, but thought it might have gotten damp and clumped up,so i bubble bal. them instead.these tires could stand to be replaced tread wise but no obvious damage. The man at nat. tire and wheel said the tires could just be doing this since there getting old. i was wandering has anyone heard of this or exsperianced the same problem and what was the cause?

It is very possible to have this problem with old tires. I would almost bet they are out of balance.

Good luck,

:)>-

Hello My 89 did this too after driving it for a couple months after putting a 6 inch superlift on it . The front end would start shaking terribly and youd think it was going to roll over . Come to find out the lift brackets had come loose if you look at the heads of the bolts you may see where the bracket has been moving back and forth about an 1/8th inch this doesnt seem like much but an 1/8th inch there is greatly amplified at the wheel . I would check that out . The directions with the first superlift I got a long time ago said to weld the bracket to the frame I think if mine does it again thats what Im goona do . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

no body mentioned the track bar for the front axle. i haved to tighten mine back up about every 8-10k miles. might even be the bushings for the track bar. if its loose steering will also fell really loose.
