I'm probably going to sell my 1990 Bronco. I picked it up as a project with a MAJOR oil leak. SO, I set out and pull the motor it gets all the seals. I didnt have the money to to do rings and bearings. Now, i'm kinda wishing I had held out alil longer. I suspect the rings are bad cause after the motor warms up I lose all oil pressure. The motor doesnt seem to make any noise and still drives fine, but i'm afraid of grenading the motor. I have decided to sell and get something alil more economical and reliable for now. My question to ya'll is what do you think its worth:

1990 Bronco

302, AOD

bone stock

body is really straight with only minor dings, interior is great other than driver seat has a few tears. only problem I see with body is above rear tires and looks like someone may have used bondo and its starting to crack. rear window does not work, neither do the locks.

Im thinking of starting at $1000 and working down if I need to, or do you guys think i'm lowballing myself?

Thanks for any heads up.

Did you actually MEASURE the oil pressure with a wet guage? OR are you relying on the reading from the oil sender?

It is my understanding that those senders are often not reliable. They may give a bad reading when the pressure may still actually be acceptable.

IF your oil pressure is ok, that may change your decision about keeping the truck or not, and it would certainly come into play when negotiating the selling price. I think you can get a cheap oil guage for less than $25 american.

I'll second the stock guage. Mine will read whatever it feels like reading and my wet guage will read read 60 at startup and crusing but 40 warm and it idle.

I hooked a mechanical gauge to it and I get around 30-35 at start up and after it warms up it reads around 5-8 pounds.

You didn't post the mileage, but it does sound like the motor is on it's last leg due to the low oil pressure. I would start at $1500 and work down from there a bit if you have to. Post an ad in the classified forum and see what offers you get locally, JSM84
