hey guys,

im buying a 91 4x4 with a 5.0 tomorrow and have a question about lifting. id like to do a 4" and get some 35 muds on it asap. what kind of lift kit should i go with and would i have to do anything else to it because of the lift? and could you recommend some good mud terrain radials?

thanks

For tires if you have the green BFGoodrich tires are great triple ply sidewalls and they last forever and the M/Ts look pretty nice I am running a 33 inch version. As far as linft check out broncograveyard.com they have a pretty cheap 4" lift there I am pretty sure it is rancho. You will need longer shocks as well. And will have to change the pitman arm and maybe lower the traction beams. I think thats it, wait for a supreme commander to answer they know this when they are asleep

Supreme Commander??? That's good advice, Aaron. A basic 4" lift kit will run about $450-$550, and should include the dropped Pitman arm for the steering, longer shocks, drop brackets for the front axle beams and radius arms, and either blocks or an add-a-leal (AAL) for the rear. I also agree the BFG Mud Terrain's are an excellent tire, JSM84

I also agree with the BFG's. I've ran them on 5 of my last 7 trucks. I love them. As for the lift, I used a Pro Comp kit, mostly just because of conveniance (I was home on r&r from Iraq and didnt want to waist time with the family under my truck turning wrenches, so a local shop had the kit on hand and installed it for me). Anyways, I went with a 6" and I dont think there's much differance besides longer coils and extended brake lines.

Also ought to figure in the price of an alignment too. You'll want to get that done asap so you dont wear you purdy new BFG's all funky.
