I'm lookin for one too...but all I can find is 8 and 10 point cages. I want a plain ole 4 point bar so I dont have to climb through side bars to get in the truck. I don't off road that much, but want to remove the top without worry of conseqences in a blowout type of rollover on the hwy without the top. Anyone?

Thanks

Robert

Jeff's Bronco Graveyard may still be selling a Smitty Built bolt-in roll bar and cage kit. Cage kit welds to the roll bar.

It wouldn't take much to add frame tie-ins to the Smitty Buiilt set-up. I have a used one if your in Colorado.

Johnski is absolutely correct. :excl:

You don't have to use a complete 8 or 10 point rollage like his or mine, but simply bolting a "show bar" or rollbar to the floor offers little protection in an accident, and can even do more damage by piinning you down when it rips out of the floor. And while I am a large person, I have no problem getting in or out of my Bronco. In fact, it's easier now that I can grab onto the cage and hop in rather than grabbing the steering wheel or door jamb.

S&W racecars sells the 8-pt and 10-pt cage kits, while JBG has a simple rollbar with two rear supports that should be tied into the frame as well. And if you attach seat belts or shoulder harnesses to the bar/cage, mount them by your shoulders like pictured, NOT on the floor. JSM84

I understand the importance of attachment to the frame, be it weld or bolt and would never of considered trying to bolt to the body. I do not like the cage. I want just a plain 4 point bar that preferably can be mounted to the frame without welding. Know where I might find one?

Check Jeff's Bronco Graveyard. JSM84

Edit: Nevremind, I don't see'em listed at JBG anymore, or at LMC Truck or at Summit Racing. Check ebay?

This Bronco has the simple rollbar you're looking for. It was already installed in a Bronco he recently bought, but it looks like one for a pick-up bed:

Cool pic!

It looks like it is a bolt to the bed bar alright...check out the wheel well. Is that a fuel tank in the bed? If it is i sure wouldn't want to be in that thing if it rolled... /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

The bolt- in saved my head in a single roll over starting at 35 MPH. A hard hit. Best to tie it into the frame but it does offer some protection. My bronc was smashed-in from the roll bar down to the dash at an angle.

I will be making my own roll bar for my unibody convertible Mustang. No frame but thicker parts to mount too. One can also increase the footprint of the mounts in size and use a plate on the under side.
