I replaced the ignition switch, and key and tumblers. The switch works fine when turned with a ***** driver, but the tumbler and key assembly will not engage the switch mechanism or lock into the swithch. I think the new switch is defective because the key worked fine in the old switch. Any ideas? [-o<

Thanks, Richard

Are you sure you don't have the tumbler upside down or a missing part.

Good luck,

T :D/ anks for the input. The tumblers only fit one way, and I finally figured out my problem. None of the reference books tell you about the small indent where you need to place the brass pin by turning the key counter clockwise approximately 1/2 inch, before placing the key assembly into the lock. Maybe someone else can use this information someday. Again; thanks for taking the time to offer your suggestions. Richard :)>-
