idle too high

hello and thanks for reading. I have a 1989 bronco and it idles too high until i put it into drive. im so confused. help greatly apprecieted

carberator or fuel injected? You can adjust until it fancies you on the carburator. There is an idle set you just ***** in or unscrew and you can have someone in the truck putting it into drive until you get teh desired idle setting. If it EFI..I would have to say...??????? :-"

Welcome to the zone > . How about a few details about your truck :)>- . Add them to your signature so it will be easier to answer your questions. If your truck is carborated, adjust the high speed idle ***** by the linkage connection. It should be adjusted so the "in gear" idle is around 650 RPM. However, before doing that, you should go thru the entire proceedure which is listed on the emissions sticker that is located on the radiator support.
