How would I add 3" of lift to my current 6" lift?

I have a 79 Bronco with a 6" suspension lift on it and was wondering how I could add more lift to it because I have a set of 39.5" Iroks I want to use and want to make sure I have plenty of clearance. I am looking to raise it another 3-4"

Would I just add a leaf in the rear and new coils up front? I am new to this. Funny thing is that I am still in Iraq and haven't even physically touched my truck /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> My wife bought it for me since while I have been in Iraq. The guy she bought it from said it has about a 6" lift on it.

Are you sure you want to go that high? 9" of lift will bring your CG way up and cause some problems. With 3 more inches of lift, you will propably have to re-alighn the drive shaft angles by rotating the axles. Not really ******* the rear, but the front axle is major work. You will also have to new driveshafts made or your old ones lengthend. And since you're increasing tire size you should change your gears to spin the bigger meat. You could run 35's with out a problem on a 6" lift, or consider triming your fender wells and installing some after market fender flairs to clean up your trim job.

Hope your enjoying Iraq, where are you stationed? I spent 7 months at Al Asad (El A**hole), temps went from 130* in the summer to 28* in the winter.

If you do a shackle flip you will gain 4-5" in the rear, fab some angled coil spacers for the bottom of the frt. springs, use 7* C bushings. a frt. driveshaft out of an 89 with a 1356 t/ case, and get a longer d/shaft made for the rear. I run this setup, and have 10" in the rear,8" frt. and could run 39's with ease, oh and you need 12" wide rims to get the proper backspacing . I do find you need some form of traction control though, I use a modified upper link for mine.

I am at LSA Anaconda 50 miles north of Baghdad. I am an EOD tech (Bomb Squad) the guy that disarms all the damn roadside IED's and whatever else that is made, dropped, shot, or unexploded. I leave here June 12th or so..
