Hey people, haven't been on in a while. Haven't been busy but have been SUPER LAZY lately. What's everyone been up to? How's all the Bronco's running? My Bronco is doing fine, still trying to find a new home for her before I head across the country. Everythings cool here, I'll be turning 24 on Wednesday and my son will be 3 Sep 2nd so that's about all I have to look forward to right now. I did find out I get out of the Navy Feb 15th so my terminal leave will be December 9th if all works out right. That means I'll get to be home for Christmas! WOO HOO! Well, let's hear it!

Great! You will be able to be home w/ your son and family for Christmas!!!

And thanks for serving BIDI

Our 96 has been doing well, exc. very recently while we were away from home off and on over past 3 weeks; I have narrowed down my ABS Code to the 4WABS Computer driver...but combined with a dead PSOM 2 weeks later and the cost so far ($100.00 for a replacement PSOm w/cluster) has me waiting for my old PSOm to come back today from DNA Speedometers in Tampa, FL. Andy at DNA checked it out and shipped it back for NO CHARGE!!!!!!!!!!!! Prob was a loose connector, but it looked fine when removing it. But, crap happens!

So, anyone needing PSOM or other repairs check out DNA SpeedometersVisit My Website

Their PSOM repair price are about $200.00 lower than Ford and a few other repair places.

A happy birthday to you and your son and congratulations on being able to have a nice christmas with the family at home and not over a web link on a base in Iraq like some of my friends. The bronco is running great and I have been taking wheeling trips every weekend for the last 2 months and she's holding up great. I am treating her to fresh fluids a good greasing and good Buff and wax since I won't be going anwhere this weekend. Again congrats and Thanx for serving!

Happy birthday to you and your son....3 they grow up so fast my little girl turned 1 on fathers day (how cool is that)couldn't have asked for a better present...The bronco is running great...have done a few mods latley nothing much installed a tube grille and fixed the front bumper that i tweaked on the last offroad trip....Hey it's cool that you'll be home for christmas with the family...I know the feeling...spending 5 yrs in the corp i missed alot with my other three kids...and now that they are 21,19,and18 (i know starting all over)they're pretty much self reliant....so enjoy them while they are little....proud to know you as a brother in arms....keep up the good work...and keep wheelin..... Hi Bidi, Thanks for shareing your good news!

I just returned from almost two weeks at Disney. We took my '99 Ford based motorhome powered by a V10. Fortunatley I brought a limited set of tools, and my OBDII scanner. Unfortunatley I didn't have internet access, so I couldn't reach my buddies here at BroncoZone.

I did however print out 38 pages of OBDII codes help before I left

http://www.visi.com/~rhanson/obdII_codes-full-text.htm

I got a service engine soon light, and a P1406 code which led me to a EGR valve actuator, and/or a Differential Pressure Flow Sensor for the EGR. After checking for vacuum leaks, and not knowing how to test the individual components, nor wanting to take a lot of time, I swapped them both out as a pair. $162 and on the road again. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Traveling with grandkids, also added a couple of troubleshooting challenges. I traveled about 600 miles (of the 1150 mile each way trip) without a radio, because the cassette deck is not supposed to be used as a coin deposit box. /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> AND the cigarette lighter jack (which we used to power my CB, or charge cell phones etc) didn't work due to a blown fuse. Oh... yeah, one is NOT supposed to stick a screwdriver in there right? Oh well... ****-fuses are not available at K-mart, or WallMart, so eventually I got one at the AutoCare service center that is at Disney. Not suprising it cost $5.30 there and later I picked up a spare for $2.10 at AdvanceAuto.

My ABS light went on a week before I left. I had my mechanic scan it, and he said the ABS/VSS sensor in the rear end was the culprit, but when I got the truck back, the light was off. I figured that it might have been a dirty connection, and that he fixed it by checking the sensor. I picked up a new sensor, anyway, just in case, but left it on my work-bench. The light went on and off during the trip, so one morning I picked up another new one ($20) and put it in.

All in all, it was a great trip. What I learned here by helping others troubleshoot their issues, and reading the learned responses from other mechanics who have more experience than me, made the repairs on this trip very inexpensive.
