just gave truck tune up autolite spark plugs, taylor wires, MSD cap and rotor, MSD blaster coil, new oxygen sensor, oil change and i also installed a throttle body spacer. fired truck up went about 1/10 mile down the road and check engine light came on. pull over and checked all my wires made sure everything was plugged in properly and it was. fired truck back up and got about another 1/10 mile down the road and check engine light came back on. just printed out instructions to do a self test. anyone have any ideas to point me in the right direction.

If the lights on it's thrown a code, retrieve it & see what it's complaining about. Are you certain you have the correct O2 sensor ? Did you possibly damage the wires when you replaced it (O2 socket & all that) When you installed the spacer or the O2 sensor did you use anything like silicone or neversieze (those will off-gas and cause a code) ? There are specific Silicones that *won't* off-gas & **** the sensor because of this.

actually i bought the O2 sensor at auto zone and it had neiverseize already on the threads. so what do you think i should do remove it again and wipe the neverseize off the sensor and out of the threads.

Well, even though I'm not the biggest AutoZone fan (and this after 12yrs in Memphis where their World HQ is located) I have to think that even *they'd* be smart enuf to not put a contaminating substance on the threads of an O2 sensor right out of the box. Generally speaking the problem arises when guys use regular RTV silicone upstream of the sensor and the $hit it off-gasses contaminates the sensor.

Ck and see what codes the thing is throwing at you, that will pretty much tell you what the problem is.

I discovered with my crown vic that after I made my repair, that the yellow light stayed on, but went out after 5 or 6 warm-ups. It was still reporting the old issue, and eventually cleared the memory.

I would run a couple of errands, and if it doesn't self clear after a half dozen start ups, I would run to autozone and have them check codes.

I am really just a newbie, but the more I try to help others, the more I learn from others like BroncoBill78, Seabronc, Miesk5, and justshootme64, and a host of other regular contributors to this site.

By helping other Bronco owners, you really get a feeling of the comardarie that goes with owning the breed. I hope that you continue to participate.

At any rate, enjoy her... I am sure she is a great MPV and that you can get years of dependable enjoyment from her.

I am really glad that things worked out for you.
