1977 bronco, 302 sputtered and died. I am a newbe here so be kind. instaled a new water pump still no gas to carb. Found a leak in line at auxiliary tank and fixed, still no gas. It appears that the line connects on top of main tank?? Will I have to drop the tank to reach it? Is this set up original? Someone please educate me. Thanks

You mean fuel pump right? :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> Did you change fuel filter? did you look inside carb to make sure gas is reaching carb? the line should be in front of tank where sending unit is (I think), you should have no problem reaching it and taking it off. you can take it off and clean it with air to see if trash is in there. Is the selector lever under seat in one position and not in center by accident?

Hay dawg..,

"I am a newbe here so be kind. instaled a new water pump still no gas to carb."

--- Ok.., I'll be kind... > ..assume you mean "FUEL" pump.

A whole bunch more info. about your rig would help.... :D/

"It appears that the line connects on top of main tank??"

That sounds like a fuel inj. type of tank..., body lift., &/or any number of aft. market tanks.

Good unit & they're not that difficult to remove.

Having said.., R/U sure it's a fuel issue...? How did you check.? & did you test the ignition..?

It'd be a shame to pull the tank only to find it functioning normal.

Yes pump. Filter is good --gas is not reaching the carb. We used air to find the leaking hose-- checked the selector-- the line is on top of tank. I think we'll drop tank this wk. Thanks

Yea, fuel pump--changed filter--gas not making it to carb.-- checked the selector. Gas tank might be after market or something cause line not in front. The fuel pump is pumping air. Found a couple leaks useing air pressure and fixed-- still pumping air which led be to line at or on tank

Whatever type tank the line runs over the top-- the fuel pump is pumping air. We check the lines with air pressure-- found a leak and repaired-- still pumping air led us to tank. Plan to drop the tank in a few days. If you think of something else Thanks

Are you dropping aux. tank too, or is problem only from main tank?

All I can add is ., if you pull the line (for rear tank) off the switch-over valve., & blow air by mouth, back into tank & have your buddy listen in the filler neck .... you will (or will not) hear "bubbles" ...if no bubbles., there's your prob.

Using an air-hose is to fast & bubbling won't be audible.

You don't have a switch-over valve that feeds "both" I hope.

Maybe I just bought junk cars, but giving the fuel line a BJ never worked they needed a air injection from the airline front too back then they flowed fuel that just meant new tank and pump and all ran good with a carb blow/cleanout, three hours done!!!!Rust be gone for along time!!!Unless you have a baad truck avenger holley carb from 2004-2006 with the bad metering plate castings that crode, I called holley and they sent me a new carb in 48 hours, never had too clean it out since, thanks Holley for you support and replacement!!!
