i'm about to swap in a 460 on my 79 bronco. i wanted to know if anyone who has done this swap had to do anything to the front suspension to handle the excess weight? if so, what did you do ? i have a 3'' suspension lift ready to go under her, will that be sufficient? thanks for any help .

There is no need to worry about modifying any of the suspension for the 460 swap. In fact, if you look at the weight of a 351M and 460, the 460 only weighs a couple hundred pounds more.

No need to up agrade anything. But if u like they do make shocks with coil spring on them that add about a extra 500 pds of pay load to the truck.Good for trucks that haul or have a winch or plow on front as well.I have a set on the rear of my bronco. They also make them for the front as well.I picked up the pair at autozone for about 75bucks.
