Front end shake

I have a 95 bronco, 5.8l, 3" bodylift and 2.5" suspension, roughly 140,000 miles on it. Lately I have noticed a violent shake in the front end when I brake at about 70-65, or I hit a pretty good bump in the road. I have 33"'s and run with one stabalizer in the front. I scares the s#$% out of me. I thought I noticed something on this site or another so forgive me if this has been addressed here before. I am new to the site. Anyway, has anyone experienced this before? If so what were your solutions or what would you suggest. Thanks....

the brake shake could be rotors or uneven compression witht he calipers. as far as when you hit a bump. does it continue to shake after you hit the bump, like your truck is taking time to stabalize itself??

Only when I slow down to about 40-45 it will stabalize. When I speed up it is ok.

your shake is causesed by the tires i know it sounds crazy but my bronco had good 31 in. micky thompsons on it and it would do the same thing when you got a bump just right. i replaced stabalizers and bushings,ball joints, and everything you can name under the front of my truck and it didnt help untill someone slahsed all four of my tires and i had to buy new ones and it hasnt done it. so i would have to say try changing your tires first

Well I have 33x12.5x15 BFG All Terrains, at about their half life. What tires did you end up going with?

fwiw, i have the exact same tires as you do with no shaking problems. you might take it to an brake/alignment shop and have it checked. could be a number of things: worn rotors, pads, bent rim, steering alignment. good luck, hope it gets fixed.

When is the last time you had the tires balanced and rotated?

It probably will help, but not guarentee. Besides, its maintanence

Check the suspension drop bracket bolts to make sure there tight a little loose there will ahve it all over the road even though they dont move back and forth very much . Youll be suprised /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

you could also check for uneven wear (high and low spots on the middle tread) on the tires and have them shaved if they are

i had taken mine and had alinments done on it two or three times and it didnt help the tires was fine and i thought the people that were telling me it was the tires were crazy but like i said it fixed the problem. if you have a buddy that has some tries and rims you could try to stick on yours and try for a day or so you should try that but tell your buddy what happens and when it does it because i will bet money that your buddys truck would do the same thing. ,,, o yea you need to get i fixed A.S.A.P if you wait to long and it keeps doing it you will crack you frame my cracked right in frony of the stering box. I had the same problem, double check all your lift brackets and bolts. make sure they are tight as can be. If even loose a little you will be hopping all over the road. it sucks i know, mine did it to me at 55 and i ended up 2 lanes over from where i was driving.
