I just got another bronco recently and never checked out the spare. After some mods and putting on the 38.5's I decided the spare was useless and went to take it off. I noticed it had a lock so I got out the lock cutters since it didnt come with any extra keys and just before I cut it I noticed that the lock had a FORD stamp in the steel. I have never seen this before, even after all the years of working at a salvage yard.
So, is this something I should be saving? Could a Ford dealership possibly get me a key for this? Even if it is common I still would like to get the lock off without damaging it just cause its cool. Next option is to hack up the tire carrier to get the lock off in one peice without the key.
