I just picked up a floorjack at a yardsale for $5. It was missing the cup but I had a couple spares floating around so no biggie there. The real problem is that you have to pump it a whole bunch to get it to move & it doesn't hold so well. It's gotta be low on hydraulic fluid & probably needs a new seal. The last time I bought one of these rascals new it came with a small seal kit but that was 25yrs ago.

Anyone ever rebuild one of these ? I figured they used a specific jack-oil or something, but I really have no idea. Ditto on the seals, I don't know how available they are. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a Harbor Frieght around I believe they sale a kit. I hear it's rather easy to do though I've never done one myself. Also, any place that sales Hydrolic stuff should be able to get you the seals as well.

Bidibronco nailed it on the head, and your local auto store may also have the seal kit and hydraulic oil. It's not hard to replace the seal, but it sometimes is hard to get it to seat properly. If it doesn't, it will go flying across the shop whne you try to pump it up. And don't overefill with oil, as that will pop the seal out, too. JSM84
