the 84 was running good today after all the things i've done to it since i got it, so i decided it was time to test it on the beach! we dont have mud here so the beach is the only place we can take the trucks off road. the soft stuff is a challenge for sure though! i decided to wait till after dark incase i did get stuck every one wouldnt see me struggling like a cow with its foot stuck in the mud! haha. so anyway i locked in the new warn hubs and went for it and it did AWESOME! didnt slack the tires at all and it still pulled right through the softest sand! usually trucks follow other peoples tracks if they arent sure they can make it but i didnt need to i made my own tracks. all in all its been 500 $ well spent!

thats great man. the only time i ever got stuck in mine was when i high centered the rear diff. It took about 30 mins of rocking it and building up under my tires to get out but i made it. That was also the last time i went out on the trails without another truck with me.

Sounds like fun....never really had my 85 in the sand...not much sand here in my area in tenn.but it is a great feeling when something you've done your self really works like it should...that's what keeps true bronco owners true too they'er rides anybody else would have given up and left her for dead.... thats exactly what the guy i bought it from had done. i cant stand to see a bronco go to waist though so i figured i would take it over. i've only gotten stuck in the sand when the four wheel drive didnt work for what ever reason. and never in a bronco just chevy's and one time in an f 150. but your right it does **** winches are kind've pointless on a beach too haha.

if you get a hilift jack with the shovel attachment you can use it to dig into the sand.

yea highlifts can be a life saver. and i have seen this one thing that looks like an anchor that digs into the sand and you can hook your winch up to that but usually if you do happen do get stuck there is somebody around to pull ya out.
