I'm considering fender flares (I never liked them before, but they grew on me) as a way of getting bigger tires while lifting the truck up. Now, I know it's all a matter of cutting some fenders with a sawzall, and I'm just wondering - is this something you just have to eye up while doing, or do most reputable fender flare kits come with measurements and guides? Also, My friend put bigger tires on his 150, and no one ever told him about rubbing in a turn (not even the shop that mounted the tires.) So everytime he turned, the inside of the fender ate up the tires real quick. I did a little talking, and was told that the tire rubbing during a turn is only between the tire and a bold/head of the bolt. Is this a problem and can it be avoided? From all I've read I've never heard of this problem, on Bronco's at least. But it's not really in the budget to be buying tires every other month either.
