I just got a new Magnaflow muffler, after I busted the original one offroading. Now it's way too quiet. I can barely tell it's running at an idle! Are there any tips (as much as a ricer peice they are) to add to the end to get a little more growl? Or any way to make it louder short of headers or... putting holes in it with an icepick? It had crossed my mind...

Pull your pipes off of your manifolds and run it like that! That's effin loud! I had to do that before I rebuilt my engine and boy was it a monster! If your state doesn't allow you to run catless then go with a high flow cat system and a little bigger exhaust.

I just had new exhaust put on mine, I cut off the second cat, ran 3" pipe with a Flowmaster Delta 40 series with a 3" tailpipe exiting at the stock location. It is loud enough and low enough to sound good but not obnoxious while driving.

It's labeled as a Satin muffler. I can't really say I want to replace it or the pipes just yet, seeing as I'm kneedeep in a 351w rebuild. THEN I'll have headers, pipes, no cats (if PA will let me get away with it) and agressive Flowmaster 40. Until that comes, though, I guess I 'll have to settle for quiet.
