hello all,

i have a 94 bronco eddie bauer. i was doing some research on the web trying to figure if it would be feasible to change my factory exhaust to a flow master dual exhaust system and add a vortec cyclone in the air hose to my truck for better horse power and gas mileage.

is this a good option or should should i take another route.

Not doing any off roading though i do work around construction sites so my baby (Bronco) definetely comes in handy there.

i also have a little bit of slack in my steering. can anyone tell me about how much it cost if i go to the shop and get this fixed. a round about figure will do just fine. thankx.

If the cyclone you are referring to is that cookie cutter looking thing that goes in the air inlet hose, don't waste the money. I bought one, tried it in three different aplications, and it didnt do squat..lol.

welcome.gif To the Zone!

First thing's first. As Jersey said, those cyclone things are a waste of money. Don't get it, if you already bought it then send it back.

Flowmasters are not a bad option, I have a 40 series on my Beast but I haven't noticed any difference (mostly because I usually have my foot in it to hear it.). I also have K&N kit and that seems to help some.

The slack you are describing is a common problem with Ford trucks. Not much you can do about it but get used to it.

I thought the only way a flow master worked right was if you were smashing the throttle? <shrug> Rule of thumb i always went with anyway. :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Listen to these guys, cyclone or whatever its called is a waste. It is nothing but somebodys get rich quick Idea. In my opinion the Top 5 Mods for a Bronco are

1.Cat Back Exhaust(flowmaster or magnaflow to name a few)

2.K&N Intake

3.Performance Chip

4.Throttle Body

5.Lower gears(if tires are larger than Stock)

This is only my opinion and many may disagree. However All mod(except gears) should only cost $500-$850 depending if the parts are bought retail or on an aution type website like Ebay. As far as the play in the steering if your truck has over 100,000 miles you probably need a power steerin gearbox as these were problem parts anyways. OH! and try greasing the Front steering Links(tie rods or what not) as they may need some grease.

Again thats just my two cents.

i appreciate the info. this site is great. i lot of information floating around. i absolutely love my truck and will until the wheels fall off. i will be sorking on it in the next couple of weeks. need brakes, changing the exhaust, i think i need a water bottle because i couldn't run the air last year with out it overheating on me but i believe it is something minor. i just noticed a couple of weeks ago that if i turn the air flow direction *** from the vent to the floor or the the windsheild the truck stalls. any idea of what that could be from. good lookin on the cyclone thingy i will leave that one alone. a few others have said the same thing.

well BB went in and got out of the shop in a day. she had an new tie rod (hope i am saying that right) put on and there no play in the steering now (we'll see how long that last) and dual flow master pipes *** on coming out behind the tires. Damn she feels and sounds good. thankx for all the help Broncozone peeps. i will let you know about the gas mileage and all that other stuff after i change the oil and tune her up this weekend. oh ihave had the truck for two years now and the engine light came on about mile into every ride. well the engine light didnt come on this morning on my way to work. if it isn't because of the duals that i just put on it may be becuase the heater cage around the pipe has always been loose. something to think about for those whose engine light may be coming on and you don't know why. :p /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> to those that knock broncos. damn i love my truck.

what did the dual flowmasters cost you installed?
about $460 at Mieneke in DC. I was quoted $550 but went to another location in Maryland. i have to say that even if i had to pay the $550 it would have been worth it from the way the truck feels and sound. i think i mad a great investment for the truck. had it Two years and it hasn't felt this good to drive in all that time. can't wait to take a road trip now. :)>-
