h34r: /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> Its me again, trying to restore my 188 bronco. i have a major problem that is really bothering me. I have just put in a rebuilt engine into my horse. It sounds great, but when I'm going over 30 mph, I start to hear a rattling noise in the engine. I have pulled over numerous times and put the truck in neutral and I dont hear it. What gives, I have changed the oil twice it stops for awhile, but then it returns. Please help
I've had the same thing I don't think its in your motor only because Mine did this with the stock motor and I could never find what was doing it, Now I put a new 392 stroker in that I had built in Tx and shipped to me Now I still hear this Noise the only thing that I haven't changed on my truck is the EGR <_< If you find out what it is Please let me know /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> and I'll keep trying to find it on mine..
We moved alittle bit ago lol I'm in FLorida but will be moving to southern PA if I get a job offer from Kohls I keep looking for whats making the noise, the only things thats still the same under my hood is the EGR so maybe thats doing it, I'm going to feel real dumb if thats what it is
You might want to pull off the valve covers and look to see if someone left a nut or something floating around in it. I had a similar noise and found a nut for a lifter that someone had dropped and left inside the cover. The springs were playing socker with it. It was too big to get caught in the valve springs so it didn't do any harm.
