thats a tuff question that many people have many feelings on. As u well know the 351w has what they call a "speed density" fuel injection system go here for more info
http://fordfuelinjection.com as i have been told to go their many times and it has a welth of info on your subject.
if your looking to put out like 400 hp you will be looking to change a lot of components including your computer, upgrading your transmission and rearend. I don't think the 8.8 inch one can handle that kind of power.
now as for my experiance for installing the cam in my truck i did't have any trouble with the stock computer handeling it. i do not have a performance chip in it yet. i have a k&n filter and high flow headers and exhaust.
keep in mind a bronco is a brick on wheels and u might be better to just improve on the low end torque and not worry bout the high horsepower, especially if your not gonna regear it. keep that in mind when u select your cam. also the 96 351W cam from the factory with the hydraulic roller lifter setup so choose your cam wisely. i went with an isky racing cam from
http://iskycams.com/makesearch.php?catid=127&engine_id=62 make sure when u order your cam u tell what ever company u get it from what u plan to do with your truck ie.. towing, mudding, street performance
i would read the fordfuelinjection web-sight and then descide on what u want. let us know what u feel but be prepaired to spend $-) $-) to get what u want
