It's been too long since I tore this thing apart! Request someone post diagrams from Ford shop manual showing how all the stuff goes on the front of the engine on an '83 5.7 Windsor. My Haynes manual just doesn't do it & I've got Cleveland parts laying around to complicate things more. Thanks much.

Like what parts? What are you trying to do?
Thanks for the reply. I believe I have the alt, PS pump, & A/C all back on correctly now. Some locations require stud bolts - others reg. bolts, plus I had some Cleveland parts in the mix. Thanks.

Thanks for the diagrams. Where do you come up with shop manual info on this stuff?

One more thing - which is the bypass port on the water pump? Farthest right or the port torward top?

I think I have the wrong hose as it fits the farthest right best.

Thanks

You can sometimes find a complete set of shop manuals on ebay, that is where I got my set for an 83. Since there were only minor changes from 80 - 86, a set in that range should work for probably 98% of the things you would do on a Bronco. You should also get an EVTM which I consider the most valuable troubleshooting manual you can get for the truck.

Those are available right now. One other that would be great volume HT of the shop manuals, (Engine and Emissions Diagnosis). There is a lot of great information in it. The Chilton and Haynes manuals are only a Readers Digest version of these.

The bypass hose is on the left side of the water neck to left side of the water pump as looked at from the front of the truck.

Good luck,

:)>-

Attached are a couple of pictres that may help.

Appreciate the info - the pics confirm my suspicions tat I had it backwards, which is too bad 'cause it all fit better the wrong way! (heater hose has to wiggle underneath a combo alt/air pump bracket).

FYI my water pump came with a rubber sleeve that goes on the water pump ****** (5/8") and bushes the 3/4" hose off the thermostat neck. That way the clamp on the bypass hose doesn't have to be squashed so much.

Thanks again.
