1994 5.8, If I remove the smog pump & EGR will mileage & Power go up or down? what the**** do you do with all the freaking wires on the egr?

now just run a single exhaust with a thrush glass pack IF I remove cat so I have free flow? or will it create issues? .

I'm averaging 15.0 MPG @ 65mph now.A bit more snort would be nice......

K & N and the airaid spacers are they effective/ ya? no?

Happy to chat about this for as long as you're interested but I've got to ask, do you have any sort of veh inspection up there in the Dakotas ? Or is this just a trail rig ?

ABSOLUTLY ZERO sort of vehicle inspections. I run this Bronco every day!

well, unfortunately here's the deal. it's not the 70's or 80's anymore and while sure you can pull everything off you won't really see any improvement like you used to. Fact is that everything is engineered a lot better these days and while yes, removing the air pump will eliminate a *small* parasitic drag on the flywheel you just won't free up the ponies that you used to be able to back in 77'. To be perfectly honest with ya, if you pull it all off and don't coverup the ck engine light you probably won't notice any difference at all. I WILL admit that yes the engine compartment will probably be a lot cleaner & neater without all that stuff in there but you're not going to change much. For a daily driven street rig you really should run the cats, it's just the responsible thing to do and you need the backpressure anyways. Removing the rest of it will maybe make it easier to see what you're working with and eliminate a lot of wiring & vacuum hoses but understand that you may also be creating some drivability problems that will be difficult to resolve. You're still stuck with needing the computer to run the engine and the computer wants to see the $hit you're about to pull off. If it doesn't see it then it may well default into "limp home" mode and cause no end of hassles.

Now, if you really want to go this route then just consider swapping in a carb'd crate engine. You can run a nice simple 3-wire deal with a 4bbl and be done with it and can probably defray some of the $$$ by selling the EFI engine. If I were looking to go this way it's what I'd do because in the end it will be a LOT simpler.
